We have several models of midi skirts: from the fitted stretch fabric pencil skirt, to flared paper bag styles, to pleated ones in satin, tulle, or leather. In these skirts, the waist is high, cinched with a belt, or they are form-fitting, always highlighting the waistline.
One might think that not everyone can wear them. With a few small adjustments, you will realize that this is not the case. The pencil midi skirts fit better on slim physiques, however, when worn with a blazer, it masks the prominent hips. Instead, with a t-shirt or a short sweater, they flatter slimmer girls. The trick is to maintain solid colors for the former and contrasting colors for the latter.
Paper bag pants look great on everyone because the flared line hides wide hips and, conversely, rounds out the hips for those with a narrower frame. Finally, the pleated midi skirt: here the trick lies in the choice of fabric: satin for softer physiques that drapes better over the hips, wool and other heavier fabrics for tall girls.
Since these skirts tend to lower the silhouette, never wear ankle boots or shoes with ankle straps that further cut the figure, unless you are tall.
